DESCRIPTION

GigE Vision Camera IMX990

The MARS GigE Visible–SWIR series is an industrial GigE Vision camera featuring Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability. The GigE Vision interface is widely used in machine vision applications, particularly when cable lengths exceeding 5 meters are required.
This monochrome VIS–SWIR camera model is an ideal choice when your application requires:

  • A robust industrial-grade VIS–SWIR camera
  • Cable lengths up to 100 meters without signal degradation
  • Affordable and straightforward cable installation
  • Compatibility with standard 1000 Mbit Ethernet cables (Cat6 or higher)
  • Single-cable connectivity for both data and power
  • Camera dimensions: 58 × 58 × 75 mm

Monochrome SWIR Industrial Camera

A monochrome SWIR camera—often referred to as a Visible–SWIR camera—offers significant advantages across a wide range of industrial and scientific applications. Visible light typically spans wavelengths from 400 nm to 780 nm, while infrared light covers wavelengths from 780 nm to 1000 µm. Within the infrared spectrum, the band directly adjacent to visible light is known as Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR).

Sony’s IMX990 SWIR image sensor is engineered to capture wavelengths from the visible range all the way into the SWIR spectrum. The camera delivers comprehensive imaging performance across 400 nm to 1700 nm, enabling a single device to replace traditional dual-camera systems (visible light camera + SWIR camera). The MARS-138-95GTM-TN-SWIR camera reduces system cost, improves processing efficiency, and expands detection capabilities by consolidating both imaging ranges into one solution.
Monochrome SWIR GigE cameras are useful in a variety of applications:

  • Semiconductor inspection
  • Moisture detection and inspection in wet environments
  • Material identification and differentiation

Thermoelectric cooling (TEC)

Thermoelectric cooling (TEC) technology, based on the Peltier effect, provides precise temperature regulation for CMOS image sensors. The sensor temperature can be maintained up to 15 °C below ambient, creating a stable operating environment that minimizes noise and performance fluctuations.

This advanced cooling capability not only stabilizes imaging conditions but also supports longer exposure times, significantly enhancing the camera’s sensitivity. These benefits make TEC-equipped cameras an excellent choice for applications with demanding performance requirements, such as those in the medical and semiconductor industries.

MTBF, Warranty & Product Life Cycle

Daheng Imaging produce yearly more than 1,00,000 industrial cameras according to the highest quality standards. The mean time between failure (MTBF) is more than 400.000 hours (45 years, 24/7). The industrial cameras are certified by TÜV Rheinland and have a 3 year warranty. After market introduction, every camera model is at least available for 7 years. Most cameras have even a much longer product life cycle.
