Industrial Monochrome / Black & White Camera

A black and white camera—also known as a monochrome camera—offers significant advantages across many industrial applications. While markets such as security and consumer electronics increasingly rely on color cameras, the industrial sector continues to benefit from the unique strengths of monochrome imaging.

Monochrome cameras are typically up to three times more light-sensitive than color cameras, enabling superior performance in low-light environments. They produce sharper, noise-free images and generate less data, which simplifies and accelerates image processing.

By combining the camera with an appropriate color-specific light source and lens filter, users can create enhanced contrast for even more precise inspection results. The industrial monochrome camera consistently delivers high-contrast, high-resolution images, making it ideal for machine vision, inspection systems, measurement applications, and high-speed imaging tasks.

The I/O connector on the USB camera uses an 8-pin HR25 Hirose interface, a widely accepted standard in the industrial machine vision market. The camera supports an input for external hardware triggering, while its output can be used to activate a light source—such as an industrial vision strobe—for precise illumination control. In addition, the camera features two General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) ports that can be fully programmed via our SDK to support application-specific automation requirements.
