DESCRIPTION

GigE Vision Camera AR0522

The Mercury GigE camera series is a compact industrial vision camera featuring a GigE interface, the most widely used connection in conventional machine vision systems. It is offered in both PoE (Power over Ethernet) and non-PoE variants.

This model is well suited for applications that require:

  • An industrial-grade camera
  • GigE interface
  • Cable length up to 100m
  • Cost-effective and straightforward cabling
  • A single-cable setup when using PoE
  • Compact dimensions: 29 × 29 × 29 mm (non-PoE) or 29 × 29 × 38 mm (PoE)
  • Hardware triggering (requires an I/O cable)

I/O Port for Hardware Trigger / Strobe Control

  • The camera features an 8-pin HR25 Hirose connector, a widely used standard in the industrial machine vision market.
  • Input function: Can be used as a hardware trigger to control image capture.
  • Output function: Can trigger external devices such as industrial machine vision lights and turn on/off rejection signal.
  • Two GPIOs (General Purpose I/O): Fully programmable through our SDK for custom applications.
  • Documentation: Electrical diagrams for the I/O connector are included in the manual.

NIR

NIR cameras use monochrome sensors designed specifically for the Near-Infrared (NIR) range, typically between 800–1000 nm. Standard IR LEDs usually operate at 850 nm or 930 nm.
Compared to conventional monochrome cameras, NIR sensors have deeper photon-sensitive regions within each pixel, allowing them to capture higher wavelength infrared light more effectively.
Because of this advanced sensitivity, NIR cameras are more expensive than regular monochrome models. They are particularly well-suited for low-light environments and are widely used in intelligent transportation systems (ITS)medical imaging, and other infrared imaging applications.

Industrial Monochrome Camera

A monochrome, or black-and-white, camera is designed to capture images without color information, making it highly effective in industrial and scientific applications. Unlike color cameras, which divide incoming light into multiple channels, monochrome cameras use the full sensor for brightness detection. This results in greater light sensitivity, sharper images, and reduced data volume, which significantly improves the speed and efficiency of image processing.

By pairing monochrome cameras with the right lighting wavelengths and lens filters, specific product characteristics can be emphasized, creating high-contrast, high-resolution images. This makes them ideal for tasks such as inspection, measurement, and machine vision, where precision and detail are critical. Their ability to deliver consistent performance in controlled environments has established monochrome cameras as a reliable choice for industrial imaging.

MTBF, Warranty & Product Life Cycle

Daheng Imaging produce yearly more than 1,00,000 industrial cameras according to the highest quality standards. The mean time between failure (MTBF) is more than 400.000 hours (45 years, 24/7). The industrial cameras are certified by TÜV Rheinland and have a 3 year warranty. After market introduction, every camera model is at least available for 7 years. Most cameras have even a much longer product life cycle.
